Dental Implant FAQs: 7 Answers to Questions People Ask Most

Dental Implant FAQs By Dr Frank V Maldonado DDS

Dental Implant FAQs

Dental implants are widely considered the healthiest solution to replace one or more missing teeth.

When you’re missing a tooth – even just one – the remaining teeth adjacent to the space left by the missing tooth will begin to move into that empty space.

That’s not healthy. The healthiest way to replace that missing tooth is with a dental implant.

This is because dental implants are surgically anchored into your jaw.

Implants mimic the natural tooth root, thereby preventing the adjacent teeth from moving, and any of the associated complications, especially jaw bone loss.

Dental implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth.

Here is a list of the seven most common questions people ask about dental implants… Read the rest of this entry »

6 Reasons to Smile About Dental Implants

6 Reasons to Smile About Dental Implants

Dental Implant Awareness Month: What’s Your Reason to Smile?

This year’s theme of Dental Implant Awareness Month is, “What’s your reason to smile?”

The mission of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry aims to empower individuals considering dental implants through education and celebrate those who are already living a life full of smiles with their dental implants.

Dental implants are the most comfortable and permanent solution to replacing one or more missing teeth.

This is because dental implants are the only tooth replacement option that actually mimics your natural teeth.

A natural tooth consists of a root and a crown, if you were to compare natural human teeth to implant-supported replacement teeth, you’d see they are basically the same. Read the rest of this entry »

School Band Instruments Bacterial Hot Zones

The Band Is Back To School

During back to school season, parents have a lot to worry about, plan for, deal with, and do.

If you have a child who plays in the school band, remember to add some anti-bacterial products to that back-to-school shopping list.

The ADA Is Taking On SmileDirect Club™

What the ADA Wants You To Know About SmileDirect Club™

The American Dental Association Vs. SmileDirect Club™

On July 11, 2019, the American Dental Association (ADA) announced that it had sent a complaint letter on June 27th to the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection, raising concerns over aspects of SmileDirect Club’s marketing and direct-to-consumer sales of plastic teeth aligners.

This letter comes about two months after the ADA filed a citizen petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), stating that SmileDirect Club™ is placing the public at risk by knowingly evading the FDA’s “by prescription only” restriction the agency has placed on teeth aligning materials.

“The ADA took these actions out of concern for patient safety and to enable consumers to take action when negative treatment outcomes occur,” – said Dr. Jeffrey M. Cole, ADA president.
